What began as a curiosity for new horizons quickly blossomed into a lasting love for South Africa. The vast landscapes, golden light, and heartfelt spirit of the people captured our hearts and never let go.
As avid cyclists, we delight in exploring the region on two wheels. The coastal paths and vineyard trails are among our favourite routes. Through our bike shop, Cycle-Village, we remain deeply connected to the Swiss cycling community – and the fact that our love for movement has found a second home here at Salty Horizon makes this place truly special.

Our heartfelt project wouldn’t be what it is without the soul and spirit of our co-hosts – 9Miles Project. This local nonprofit, and cherished friends, cares for our home with unwavering dedication, warmth, and a deep-rooted sense of community. Their team works tirelessly to offer new opportunities to children and young people from marginalised coastal areas – using surfing, mentorship, and education as powerful tools for transformation.
